Jacob Steagall

I grew up in Thousand Oaks, which means I learned this valley the slow way — as a kid riding bikes through it, not as an agent studying comps. I graduated from Thousand Oaks High School, then spent a few years on the production side of the film industry: an AA in Film from Santa Barbara City College, a BA in Multimedia from Cal Lutheran, and work that ranged from aerial cinematography to serving as a DP’s assistant on the first season of The Mandalorian.

That background is not a detour from real estate — it is most of why I’m good at it. Cinematography is the discipline of noticing what light does to a space and what a frame leaves out. Real estate, at the level I practice it, is the same discipline applied to a home: knowing what a room actually feels like at 5pm, what a listing photo is hiding, and what a buyer needs to hear before they fall for the wrong house.

Today I’m a REALTOR® with Y Realty Inc., and I’ve represented over $200M in career sales across Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and Calabasas. I’m also independently building Buyer Pool, a matching platform for buyers and listings — because the industry’s tools should be as considered as the homes they’re selling.
